THIS BOOK. This book got me into writing. The first of two books I’ve ever just lost it while reading.
A lot of people don’t understand the brilliance of this book and the enjoyment I receive from it. I like to make the parallel to punk rock. You’re not listening to Bach, or Beethoven. The chords have been done to death. You’re in it for the emotion. For catharsis. The little dynamics that take it out of the steam of done-to-death punk and make it your music. The story of boy-meets-girl, boy-loses-girl, boy-reflects is not, by any means, revolutionary or ground-breaking. Hell, It’s downright cliche. You’re in it for the dynamics. For catharsis. On that front, John Green delivers.

"Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book. And then there are books […] which you can’t tell people about, books so special and rare and yours that advertising your affection feels like a betrayal."

John Green, The Fault In Our Stars

FACTUAL. I have this feeling with certain albums, too.

Is it weird if I feel like if John Green made music, it would sound like the Front Bottoms?

darkcenter:

Idk. It just seems like it has that Mountain Goats sound he loves so much with the teenage angst and awkwardness he writes so much.

Yes I know I’m overthinking things. Its kinda what I do.

This is the best thought ever.
